ABBA press conference
Wednesday morning one of the local political parties ABBA held a press conference at Excelsior Hotel.
In the first part of the conference Mr.Ivan Grech Mintoff started by sharing the party’s views regarding abortion. ” ABBA is completely against abortion, in any way or form ” states Grech Mintoff.
He said that according to a survey, the majority of the Maltese population do not want abortion. He continued by saying that the two main political parties PL and PN have shown their approval for abortion and once one of them will be elected in the government it will be legalized.
” Actions speak louder than words” stated Grech Mintoff, he continued by saying that once ABBA will be in parliament they will make a private members bill to amend the constitution in which life should be protected from conception.
“PN have promised that they would do this amendment but this never happened.” sated Grech Mintoff
ABBA opposes the recent Constitutional amendment of article 52A and other laws which are discriminatory against ABBA candidates and only favors female candidates standing for PL & PN. The ensuing elections will, therefore, not reflect the wishes of the voters and ABBA is asking the court to nullify the said article and any resultant effects of any discrimination.
Mr.Grech Mintoff said that with regards to the Covid restrictions imposed in our country this have left a negative impact in different sectors such as failure in economy , closed down businesses and people suffering with depression .
” Once ABBA will be in government we will remove this abuse and apartheid where you have created a division in the Maltese population for nothing because this virus is here to stay and these restrictions are not solving the problem ” said Grech Mintoff.
When asked by our journalist if he agrees that this is Endemic, Grech Mintoff replied ” Obviously 100 percent, everyone knows that by now this has become endemic.”
Another journalist from local media asked if they had any studies about this and Grech Mintoff replied ” We have two years of proof that the restrictions imposed by the government have completely failed !”
