On March 30 the EU Commission, in collaboration with partners organizations, has created the Destination Earth program to aid in the fight against climate change.
The objective is to construct a highly realistic digital model of the Earth, which will be supported with an initial €150 million from the Digital Europe Program through mid-2024.
It will aid in the monitoring, modelling, and prediction of natural and human activities, as well as the development and testing of more sustainable development scenarios.
High-quality data, digital services, models, scenarios, projections, and visualizations will be made available to government users first, followed by scientific groups, the business sector, and the general public.
