Due to disregard for the right to free speech, PM News Malta suspends its online publications.

The managers of PM News Malta have effectively suspended their newspaper as well as the podcast and FB LIVE programmes of Malcolm Seychell “The Politician” of Edwin Vassallo “Hajja, Familja, Liberta.” The Programme “Ma’ Mario u Rita” as well as other interviews that we have recently begun.
All of this is being done as our online newspaper and media, was attacked and taken to court because of a programme aired, a discussion programme, in which space was given to a person sharing his life experience, even though it was just a Freedom of expression issue and the same topic had previously been broadcasted on other media outlets instead of PM News.
Our Media House was brought to court in the early stages of its existence, which was a huge blow for the work we were doing in the news without censorship, as well as being innovative and engaging in conversations with people who had no opportunity to have their voice heard freely on other programmes.
They chose to target us several times. First, our Facebook page was disabled, and then we were accused of live broadcasting something about which we had no clue by the time the conflict occurred.

Since Article 4 of the Maltese Constitution, which also safeguards freedom of expression, is directly in conflict with this issue, we are merely continuing to look into it. We have seen threats, intimidation, and criminal charges brought against us just because we want to report the truth and do not want to serve as the government’s or any other institution’s puppet media to achieve their malevolent goals.

As a result, we are putting a hold on PM News and all other activities until this matter is over in order to devote more time to it. This dispute involves not only our media organisation but also everyone’s right to free speech in this nation as a whole.
We take this opportunity to thank all of our readers and promise to keep working hard to ensure the existence of this nation’s free speech rights.
