France elections

According to figures posted on the Interior Ministry’s website on Monday, incumbent President Emmanuel Macron obtained 58.55 percent of the vote in the presidential election runoff after the main count of votes was concluded.
Marine Le Pen of the National Rally party received 41.45% of the vote.
Le Pen had earlier contacted her adversary to congratulate him on his expected triumph. While addressing to a crowd of supporters, Le Pen praised her victory as a “historic accomplishment” for her party and pledged to continue fighting in the next legislative elections.
The final results of the runoff will be announced by the French Constitutional Council in the middle of the week.
