ISU keeps suspension of Belarusian, Russian athletes in force

State news agency TASS reported that the International Skating Union (ISU) has decided at its Congress to extend the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until further notice.
According to ISU Director General Fredi Schmid, the prohibition on Russian and Belarussian athletes competing in ISU tournaments would stay in effect until the ISU Council or Congress decides to lift it.
In late April, the Council of the International Skating Union (ISU) canceled Russia’s stage of the 2022/2023 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series.

The congress is set to consider about 250 issues related to the ISU activity. Among them is to increase the minimum age limit in figure skating up to 17 years old.
