Less than half of seniors over the age of 80 accepted the invitation to a second dose of booster

Vaccination with the second booster seems to be lagging behind as according to the Ministry only 51% of these people have so far accepted the invitation and gone to the appointment to be vaccinated.
Although the percentages of these are still low, in the last days, the health authorities did not wait and started sending the invitations to those elderly people over the age of 65 with the aim that even these they are now taking the fourth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
So far Malta has always been at the forefront, where even when the absolute majority of Maltese and Gozitans accepted the invitation of the authorities and received the third dose of the vaccine
The minister insisted that a second dose of the booster could further reduce the risks for the most vulnerable.
Vaccination with a fourth dose is voluntary and is not yet listed or in any way influences the declining use of the vaccine certificate.
