Political manipulation

Are politicians good actors ?

I am not a political fanatic and moreover I side to no present political party, but I would like to share some thoughts about the present situation in our country as we are getting ready for the elections. Then again, I mean no harm or offence to no one and should someone wishes to comment, please feel free. I humbly only ask to be responsible and respectful as regards to what you write.

We all have heard the famous song  ‘Pajjiz tal-Mickey mouse’ and we must admit that certain lyrics are spot on. Well now it transpires  that besides the cartoon comparison, our country is becoming a  colourful circus.
During a rally or a meeting, it looks like  all politicians are the energetic performers doing all sort of stunts and show offs to entertain the cheering crowd. On a side note, according to the so called health protocols, if you are not wearing a mask being amongst a group of people, you are definitely FINED, however, if you form part of the shouting political fans, then you are FINE ?
It seems that acting is one of the major attributes of a politician whereas s/he most often presents him/herself as a humble person, loving and understanding everyone, with so much compassion. Behind a sparkling smile, he would hold a child with one hand while raising his other so high and wave to those present as if to say ‘Youhooo, look, I am here, come come… but then if elected, a person needing his assistance, would generally find that he can’t even talk or meet him.
The elected politician will then travel high class (maybe taking his/her beloved with him/her), having the finest accommodation and savory foods, all paid from our taxes, perhaps to discuss some important issue……. But distressed families having someone diagnosed with cancer, have to turn to an NGO for assistance. Isn’t saving lives as much important as a discussion?
So, what are the purposes of a politician ? I am asking some more questions now.
Will the politicians elected to be in governance appoint honest law enforcement entities that have the courage  to take the necessary action against the same crooked politicians being from any party and if the case put behind bars?  I never heard of any crooked political figure being jailed for his/her wrong doings.
Will it ever happen that the  corrupt politicians realize  that as our country became grey listed because of their mischief, all the innocent citizens are now stained too?
Can the politicians evaluate the enormous influx of settling expats which is suffocating this tiny rock?
Many green areas are being destroyed so as apartments and flats are built to accommodate as much as possible. Traffic has also increased drastically with more accidents each day. Most of the retail outlets are being owned by foreigners who incidentally, during the pandemic, very few or none of them had to close their businesses as much as the locals had to do.
Can the politicians check what happens after someone obtains Maltese citizenship through the IIP scheme?  Can at least, now that someone is said to be Maltese with the probability of buying a residence (a piece of land from the country’s area), be able to communicate using  the Maltese language? Imagine a Maltese not knowing how to speak Maltese.
How can a political leader be trusted to unite Malta when s/he cannot truly unite his/her own party?
What are the politicians’ real intensions?
Is it power, ego, money….what about our pride of having unique traditions, a priceless history of culture and precious believes? Why is it that these attributes are being destroyed slowly or changed to accommodate the foreign settlers so as to show how much we are great to integrate?
Are there any politicians who are really prepared to defend Malta’ s ethics and criteria when it comes to face EU directives  or is it still to bowing our heads as we will suffer drastic consequences?
Can the elected politician ever understand that by putting his/her loyal servants  in selective jobs without them being qualified but only for the sake of rendering back the favour will cause more stress to the other employees and more problems at work?
Surely enough other questions will arise and more opinions are shared. As I stated, I side with no one, am not a racist ( the so often used taboo word said to the other person who have a different opinion putting him/her on the darker side), and respect every being for who s/he is.
You may comment with respect and prudence, correct me if I am wrong as knowledge is the key to improvement.
Concluding, we should take example from our ancestors who sincerely believed in God and the Holy Mary as being the protectors of our land. Before any other leader, we should put Them first as trust is fully guaranteed.
