Il-kliniċi bdew jagħlqu f’xi stati tal-Istati Uniti wara li sentenza tal-Qorti Suprema nhar il-Ġimgħa neħħiet id-dritt kostituzzjonali tan-nisa Amerikani għall-abort.
Madwar nofs l-istati huma mistennija jintroduċu restrizzjonijiet jew projbizzjonijiet ġodda wara li l-qorti waqqfet id-deċiżjoni tagħha ta’ Roe v Wade ta’ 50 sena.
Huwa maħsub li 13-il stat għandhom l-hekk imsejħa liġijiet “trigger” fis-seħħ li se jaraw l-abort projbit fi żmien 30 jum.
Il-President Joe Biden iddeskriva s-sentenza bħala “żball traġiku” u kkontesta d-deċiżjoni tal-Qorti Suprema li tħassar id-deċiżjoni tagħha dik ta` Roe v. Wade li ttieħdet 50 sena ilu. Ara It-tweet mill-President.
State laws banning abortion are taking effect today – some of them so extreme that women can be punished for protecting their own health, even in cases of rape and incest.

Sadanittant tweet ieħor tal-First Lady Jill Biden kitbet hekk
“Għal kważi 50 sena, in-nisa kellna id-dritt li jieħdu d-deċiżjonijiet tagħna stess dwar ġisimna. Illum, dak id-dritt insterqilna u filwaqt li nistgħu nkunu meqruda minn din l-inġustizzja, mhux se noqogħdu siekta. Mhux se noqogħdu lura hekk kif il-progress li diġà rbaħna jintilef”.
For nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies.
Today, that right was stolen from us.
And while we may be devastated by this injustice, we will not be silent. We will not sit back as the progress we have already won slips away.
