Updated Guidelines for the Education Sector

Updated Guidelines for the Education Sector – Effective from 25th April 2022

Public health published new updates for the education sector. These guidelines will be effective from April 25.
According to the new guidelines it will no longer be mandatory to wear a mask in schools. However, individuals are free to make their own assessment of risk for themselves and for their children given that evidence to date still shows that wearing a mask is an effective means of preventing viral spread to
others in conjunction with maintaining an adequate physical distance from others.
As yet, there is no evidence that face shields are effective as source control or protection from
respiratory droplets as masks thus, masks should be used, stated the Public Health.
