“The Maltese parliamentary method of distorting democracy” Arnold Cassola
The Electoral Commission has just announced that the Nationalist Party has been granted two more seats in Parliament to reflect the House’s proportionality compared to the final voting tally. The two seats will be filled by Toni Bezzina and Ian Vassallo.
Arnold Cassola says that the PN gets two extra seats for nothing, whilst ADPD, who got nearly 5000 first count votes and gets nothing.
“This is all the result of the legal gerrymandering by PN and PL who have gerrymandered the electoral system in their favor through their presence in parliament. Such anti-democratic behavior must come to an end once and for all,” concluded Cassola.
