The pope visit will include discussion on migration

The Pope will be speaking about migration while he will be visiting the Maltese Island.

A humanitarian rescue ship will enter Maltese waters Friday to pick up 106 people rescued from Libyan waters – just a day before Pope Francis lands on the island.

The Pope has indicated that migration will be the focus of his visit and on Sunday will visit the Ħal Far Laboratorium, where migrants are housed.

“Perhaps an unequivocal appeal by the Pope to the Maltese government can make Malta, as the closest EU state, feel responsible for 106 people seeking protection,” Sea-Eye chairman Gordon Isler said.
